REQUIRING INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED TO PREGNANT INDIVIDUALS
An Act relating to public health; creating Ava's Law; requiring certain persons to provide certain information to pregnant individuals; requiring State Department of Health to compile and publish certain educational resources; providing for codification; and providing an effective date.
SUBJECT: Requiring information to be provided to pregnant individuals
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1–233.1 of Title 63, unless there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

A. This section shall be known and may be cited as Ava's Law.
B. All persons licensed to practice medicine and surgery in this state, or who are Advanced Practice Registered Nurses including but not limited to Certified Nurse–Midwives, and who provide prenatal, delivery, infant care services, and other child or adult health services related to maternal and infant care shall provide to individuals who report to such person that they are pregnant the information provided by the State Department of Health under subsection C of this section.
C. The State Department of Health shall compile and make available on its Internet website educational resources on:
1. Infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic first aid including contact information for training programs; and
2. Cord blood banking and donation.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
