OKLAHOMA ARTS COUNCIL ENDOWMENT
An Act relating to Oklahoma Arts Council; authorizing the Council to create certain endowment fund for certain purposes; stating purpose; providing for expenditures; providing for codification; and declaring an emergency.
SUBJECT: Oklahoma Arts Council endowment
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 169.1 of Title 53, unless there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

The Oklahoma Arts Council may, at its discretion, contract with other state agencies and/or non-profit organizations to create an irrevocable endowment with associated management and administration costs to trade, sell or barter donated and deaccessioned collection items that do not conform to collection policies of the Oklahoma Arts Council. In accordance with the code of ethics established by professional museum management associations, proceeds from the endowment shall be used only for the acquisition, conservation or care of collections that are owned and controlled by the Oklahoma Arts Council.
SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
