EXPRESSING THANKS TO STATE CAPITOL SUPERINTENDENT DOUG KELLOGG FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE STATE—WISHING HIM WELL UPON HIS RETIREMENT
A Concurrent Resolution expressing thanks to State Capitol Superintendent Doug Kellogg for his service to the state; wishing him well upon his retirement; and directing distribution.
WHEREAS, Doug Kellogg began his career with the state in 2001 as a Construction Maintenance Technician I for the Department of Central Services, then later provided maintenance services for tenants at the M.C. Connors Building. He was promoted to Construction Maintenance Administrator in 2007 to oversee the Governor's Mansion, then was assigned to the State Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Doug was responsible for maintenance at the Capitol at a time when the building was showing its age with significant plumbing, electrical, and other issues. Doug frequently came to work after hours or on weekends to address maintenance issues such as flooding, electrical outages, or storm damage, using every bit of his intellect and skill to keep the Capitol operational until the restoration project began, keeping the historic building MacGyvered together until help arrived in the form of bond issues; and
WHEREAS, Doug became known for his genial spirit, quiet certitude, and affable manner. His thoughts on the condition of the Capitol were sought often and his judgement respected. He was a critical resource for restoration contractors and helped educate legislators about the condition of the building; and
WHEREAS, during his time as Capitol Superintendent, he has been there for the completion of the dome, Oklahoma's centennial celebration, inaugurations, weddings, funerals, rallies, and two rounds of American Ninja Warrior; and
WHEREAS, as the Capitol restoration project comes to a close, Doug has announced his plans to retire. The impact he has had on those he has worked with or met while working for the state is immeasurable, as is Oklahoma's gratitude.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 58TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN:
