EMERGENCY ROOM CAPACITY
An Act relating to emergency room capacity; making an appropriation to the University Hospital Authority; identifying source and amount of appropriation; referencing actions of the Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief Funding; and providing for noncodification.
SUBJECT: Emergency room capacity
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law not to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes reads as follows:
From the Statewide Recovery Fund created pursuant to Enrolled House Bill No. 3349 of the 2nd Session of the 58th Oklahoma Legislature, the sum of Seven Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($7,500,000.00) shall be appropriated to the University Hospital Authority for capital expenditures to increase emergency room capacity as recommended and approved by the Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief Funding on December 6, 2021. Such funds shall be used to expand the needed capacity to help serve patients in mental health crisis.
In accordance with Article VI, Section 11, of the Oklahoma Constitution, House Bill 2779 has become law without the Governor’s signature. It was filed with the Oklahoma Secretary of State on May 27, 2022.
