SPECIFYING THE FISCAL IMPACT OF THE ELIMINATION OF THE STATE PORTION OF SALES TAX ON GROCERIES
A Resolution specifying the fiscal impact of the elimination of the state portion of sales tax on groceries; identifying agency budget amounts for Fiscal Year 2025; and directing distribution.
WHEREAS, the State Board of Equalization approved Thirteen Billion Nine Hundred Fifty-six Million Seven Hundred Seventy-two Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-nine Dollars ($13,956,772,329.00) on February 15, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Oklahoma Legislature eliminated the state portion of the sales tax on groceries on February 22, 2024, at a cost of Three Hundred Twelve Million Nine Hundred Twenty-one Thousand Three Hundred Forty-one Dollars ($312,921,341.00); and
WHEREAS, the total available recurring revenue available for use in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget is Eleven Billion Six Hundred Six Million Eight Hundred Twenty-three Thousand Five Hundred Forty Dollars ($11,606,823,540.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
THAT the Oklahoma Senate recommends the following agency budgets.
