WHEREAS, men are one hundred percent (100%) less likely than women to pursue annual screening and preventive care; and

WHEREAS, nearly sixty percent (60%) of men do not regularly see a doctor; and

WHEREAS, men die an average of five (5) years earlier than women; and

WHEREAS, only seven percent (7%) of men report discussing their health; and

WHEREAS, higher mortality rates for men result in negative economic, social, and emotional consequences for their surviving families; and

WHEREAS, a lack of awareness of and adherence to medical recommendations and protocols contributes to men's poor health outcomes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 58TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

THAT November 2022 is hereby designated as Men's Health Awareness Month.
