WHEREAS, an effective system of education for all students is essential to our democratic system of government; and

WHEREAS, the United States of America and the State of Oklahoma have made considerable progress in social, technological, and scientific fields due to our system of education; and

WHEREAS, much of this progress can be attributed to dedicated and hard-working teachers who are entrusted with the educational development of our children; and

WHEREAS, teachers should be held with high esteem, as they reflect the value our community places on education; and

WHEREAS, teachers hold an important role nationwide, as they are significant factors in shaping children and youth; and

WHEREAS, teachers are deserving of recognition for their tireless efforts and their commitment to educating students.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives supports Teacher Appreciation Week, recognizes the significant contributions of teachers to the children and youth of Oklahoma, and encourages the citizens of Oklahoma to observe Teacher Appreciation Week and honor teachers for their service to our state and nation.
