WHEREAS, Donna Garlick began her career of service at the State Capitol in 1965. During that time, Donna worked both in the Senate and in the House including serving as executive assistant to four Senate president pro tempores and a minority leader; and

WHEREAS, since 1998, Donna has worked for three Senators from Claremore serving Senate District 2 including former Senate President Pro Tempore Stratton Taylor, former Senate Minority Leader Sean Burrage, and for the past 12 years, for Senator Marty Quinn, and has been invaluable and indispensable to all she has served; and

WHEREAS, Donna's professionalism and expertise are renowned at the Capitol where she has mentored countless fellow employees. Her knowledge of local, state, and federal government services and operations are respected and sought out by members and staff from both chambers, and from both caucuses; and

WHEREAS, growing up in the state's prohibition era and spending decades in state government, Donna is a walking encyclopedia of Oklahoma history observed first-hand, regaling co-workers and members with stories from the Capitol and possessing a wealth of institutional knowledge; and

WHEREAS, Donna is beloved by all who have known and worked with her. With the temperament of a saint, Donna has assisted countless constituents over the decades with patience and compassion, and has never missed an opportunity to show others how much she cares; and

WHEREAS, Donna has retired before, but seems to be quite committed this time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 58TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

THAT the Oklahoma State Senate thanks Donna Garlick for her dedication, commitment, and service to the Oklahoma State Legislature and the people of Oklahoma.

THAT her Senate family expresses their deepest admiration, love, and gratitude, and wishes her all the best in her retirement.

THAT the Senate proclaims Wednesday, May 11, 2022, as Donna Garlick Day in the State of Oklahoma.

THAT a copy of this resolution be distributed to Donna Garlick.
