ENCOURAGING ESTABLISHMENT OF OKLAHOMA TRADE AND INVESTMENT OFFICE IN TAIWAN
A Resolution encouraging establishment of Oklahoma Trade and Investment Office in Taiwan; providing findings; and directing distribution.
WHEREAS, the establishment of an Oklahoma Trade and Investment Office in Taiwan may enhance the participation of small- and medium-sized enterprises in trade and investment, and advance sister-state ties between Oklahoma and Taiwan; and
WHEREAS, Oklahoma and the United States have benefited immeasurably through decades of unwavering friendship with Taiwan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 2ND EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF THE 58TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives hereby:
1. Supports the strengthening of our partnership with Taiwan and the expansion of Taiwan's role on the global stage;
2. Supports a bilateral trade agreement between the United States and Taiwan;
3. Supports Taiwan's meaningful participation in the International Criminal Police Organization, the International Civil Aviation Organization, and the World Health Assembly;
4. Supports an Oklahoma Trade and Investment Office in Taiwan;
5. Supports Oklahoma to establish a partnership with Taiwan through the National Guard State Partnership Program (SPP) to build on our decades of mutually beneficial relations; and
6. Celebrates the 43rd anniversary of the enactment of the Taiwan Relations Act and the 42nd anniversary of the sister-state relationship between the State of Oklahoma and Taiwan.
THAT copies of this resolution be furnished to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
