WHEREAS, agriculture is one of Oklahoma's leading industries and its associated production, processing and marketing segments together provide a major source of employment for the state's workforce; and

WHEREAS, agriculture serves all Oklahomans and Americans by providing food, fiber and other basic necessities of life; and

WHEREAS, the performance of the agriculture economy is vital to maintaining the strength of our state economy, the standard of living for our citizens and our presence in world trade markets; and

WHEREAS, it is important that all Oklahomans should understand the role that agriculture plays in their lives and well-being, whether they live in urban or rural areas.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 58TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives hereby proclaims Thursday, March 24, 2022, as Oklahoma Agriculture Day.

THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives will join efforts with agricultural organizations throughout the State of Oklahoma to continue recognizing and supporting agriculture.

THAT copies of this resolution be distributed to the Oklahoma Secretary and Commissioner of Agriculture.
