§ 63. Penalty for violations
Any person, copartnership, or corporation, its agent or employee, violating any of the provisions of this article,1 or any order of the competent courts of this state, or the Corporation Commission, pursuant to the jurisdiction conferred by this article, shall upon conviction thereof, be fined a sum of not less than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), nor more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), or imprisonment for not less than six (6) months, nor more than one (1) year, or by both such fine and imprisonment for each and every violation of this article; but in case the monthly runs or takings or transportations of oil shall average so as to be without discrimination, as herein provided, the transaction or transactions of any particular day, week, or portion of a month shall be disregarded; and the competent court of the county in which the omission or commission which is a violation of this article, has occurred, shall have jurisdiction of an action under the penal code for the punishment thereof; and said penalties shall not be exclusive of civil liability.
