If two school districts are consolidated, the apportionments due both for the current year shall be paid to the consolidated district. If an academy becomes the academic department of a union free school district by lease or adoption, the apportionment due to the academy for the current year shall be paid to such district where it appears that the work is satisfactorily continued.
