10085.6 Requirement of licensed plumbers.
(a) No person other than authorized city employees and licensed plumbers shall make any attachment to or connection with the pipes of the water board or make any additions to or alterations of any tap, pipe, cock or other fixture connected with the pipes supplying water to premises or users from the water board.
(b) Any plumber wishing to do business in connection with the water board and the water system shall provide evidence that he or she is duly licensed by the City of Buffalo and is in possession of a plumber's license in good standing. All such plumbers will be governed in all respects by these regulations and city code, adopted by the water board and city, respectively. He or she shall be liable and shall pay all fines imposed upon him or her for the violation of any of the regulations of the water board, caused by such plumber or any journeyman plumber or other persons in such plumber's employ.
(c) All such plumbers shall execute to the city and the water board a bond in the total sum set forth in the board schedule of rates, conditioned to indemnify and save harmless the city and the water board from the damages and losses which may result from the work of such plumber being done negligently or imperfectly or in such a way that injury or loss results therefrom or by reason of any failure on the part of any employee to comply with all or any of the regulations of the water board or city code, as the case may be, relating to excavations in public streets and connections with the water pipes and all ordinances and regulations, now existing or hereafter adopted for the city and the water board, respectively. Such bond shall also provide that the obligor will indemnify and save harmless the city and the water board from all damages which may be caused to private individuals by reason of negligent or imperfect work, either in plumbing, in the excavation of streets or otherwise.
(d) Licensing and conduct of plumbers shall be governed by the city code or applicable State law.
