1035.5 Paratransit service for visitors.
(a) For purposes of this section, a visitor is an individual with disabilities who does not reside in the jurisdiction served by the authority or other entities with which the authority provides coordinated paratransit service within a region, but who is staying in the jurisdiction(s) for a temporary period of time.
(b) The authority shall treat as eligible for its paratransit service all visitors who present documentation that they are ADA-paratransit-eligible, under the criteria of section 1035.2 of this Part, in the jurisdiction in which they reside.
(c) With respect to visitors with disabilities who do not present such documentation, the authority may require documentation of the individual's place of residence and, if the individual's disability is not apparent, of his or her disability. The authority shall provide paratransit service to individuals with disabilities who qualify as visitors under subdivision (a) of this section. The authority shall accept a certification by such individuals that they are unable to use fixed-route transit.
(d) A visitor shall not be entitled to receive paratransit services for more than 21 days from the date of the first paratransit trip unless the visitor has applied for and been determined to be eligible for paratransit under the application process set forth in section 1035.3 of this Part.
