301.3 Vehicle limitations (maximum).
(a) Length.
Single vehicle overall including load, 45 feet; truck or tractor with trailer or semitrailer including load
85 feet.
(b) Width.
Overall including load
8 feet, 6 inches.
(c) Height.
Overall from roadway including load
13 feet, 6 inches.
(d) Side overhang.
Including load beyond wheel rim
10 inches.
(e) Wheel load.
Per lineal inch of tire width
800 pounds.
(f) Axle load.
(1) Single vehicle-one rear axle:
(i) Weight on any axle
18 tons.
(ii) Gross weight including load
25 tons.
(2) Single vehicle-multiple rear axles:
(i) Weight on any one axle
10 tons.
(ii) Gross weight including load
25 tons.
(3) Dual vehicle (truck and trailer or tractor and semitrailer having one rear axle):
(i) Weight on any one axle of the combination
18 tons.
(ii) Gross weight of both vehicles combined including their loads
30 tons.
(4) Dual vehicles (truck and trailer or tractor and semitrailer) having multiple rear axles:
(i) Weight on any one axle of the combination
10 tons.
(ii) Gross weight of both vehicles combined including their loads
30 tons.
Note:
Vehicles exceeding the above limitations may be permitted across the bridge at the discretion of the manager, when advance arrangements have been made.
