300.1 Definitions.
(a) Approaches shall mean all plazas and roadways leading to or from the Atlantic Beach Bridge, over which the authority exercises jurisdiction.
(b) Authority shall mean the Nassau County Bridge Authority.
(c) Bridge shall mean the Atlantic Beach Bridge, located between Lawrence and Atlantic Beach, Nassau County, NY.
(d) Manager shall mean the manager of the Nassau County Bridge Authority; or the employee performing his functions for the time being.
(e) Parking shall mean the halting of a vehicle on a roadway while not actually engaged in the payment of a toll or in obedience to traffic regulations, traffic signs or signals, and regardless of whether or not the driver remains in the vehicle.
(f) Police department shall mean the Nassau County Police Department.
(g) Semitrailer shall mean a vehicle not self-propelled, designed and constructed to be towed and to move with the forward end of its body or chassis resting upon the body or chassis of the towing vehicle.
(h) Toll booth shall mean a structure used by the authority for the collection of tolls.
(i) Toll force shall mean the uniformed employees normally assigned to collection of tolls, including their uniformed supervisors, as well as the manager and assistant managers.
(j) Tractor shall mean a motor vehicle designed for drawing other vehicles and having no provision for carrying loads independently.
(k) Traffic shall include pedestrians, ridden animals, and vehicles whether moved by human power or otherwise.
(l) Trailer shall mean a vehicle (other than a semitrailer) not self-propelled, designed and constructed to be towed.
(m) Trip shall mean a one-way passage over the Atlantic Beach Bridge.
(n) Truck shall mean a motor vehicle (other than a passenger automobile or motorcycle) designed or used for the transportation of goods, wares and merchandise, or registered for such use.
(o) Velocipede shall include a bicycle, tricycle or other light vehicle propelled by the rider or riders.
