State and local social services officials and employees are permitted to engage in political activity except as proscribed, where applicable, under the Federal Hatch Act (5 U.S.C. 1501 et seq.), section 107 of the Civil Service Law, Executive Order No. 3 or any subsequent, superseding executive order, and other such provisions of the law which restrict the political activities of public employees or officers.
