3.52 Executive Order No. 52: [Suspending the applicability of certain provisions in the Labor Law relating to unemployment benefits.]
I, Hugh L. Carey, Governor of the State of New York, by virtue of the authority vested in me by subdivision (6) of section 601 of the Labor Law upon the advice of the Industrial Commissioner and the Commissioner of Commerce, do hereby direct by Executive Order that the applicability of the provisions of item (ii) of subparagraph (1) of paragraph (b) of subdivision (1) of section 601 of the Labor Law, and of the reference to such item in subparagraph (2) of such paragraph, is suspended until June 30, 1979, having determined that such suspension is required in order to assure adequate payment of benefits to unemployed workers in the State who are experiencing unemployment for an extended duration.
