382.34 Additional criteria for belowground disposal only.
In addition to the requirements of sections 382.31 and 382.32 of this Part, disposal units for belowground disposal intended to contain any Class C waste must be designed to resist inadvertent intrusion for a period of at least 500 years or must provide for the placement of Class C waste so that the top of the Class C waste is a minimum of five meters below the top surface of the cover material.
