257-2.3 Standards (SO2).
(a) During any 12 consecutive months, 99 percent1 of the three-hour average concentrations shall not exceed 0.25 ppm and the three-hour average concentration shall not exceed 0.50 ppm2 more than once a year. (Applicable in all levels).
(b) During any 12 consecutive months, 99 percent3 of the 24-hour average concentrations shall not exceed 0.10 ppm; and the 24-hour average concentration shall not exceed 0.14 ppm4 more than once a year. (Applicable in all levels).
(c) During any 12 consecutive months, the annual average of the 24-hour average concentrations shall not exceed 0.03 ppm5. (Applicable in all levels.)
Footnotes
1
For predicting future concentrations, predicted conformity with the 0.50 standard will be sufficient to demonstrate prediction of conformity with the 99 percent standard.
2
Corresponds to Federal standard of 1300 μg/m 3 (at temperature of 25°C and pressure of 760 mm of mercury).
3
For predicting future concentrations, predicted conformity with the 0.14 standard will be sufficient to demonstrate prediction of conformity with the 99 percent standard.
4
Corresponds to Federal standard of 365 μg/m 3 (at temperature of 25°C and pressure of 760 mm of mercury).
5
Corresponds to Federal standard of 80 μg/m 3 (at temperature of 25°C and pressure of 760 mm of mercury).
