87.3 Migratory waterfowl.
(a) No person shall hunt migratory waterfowl in the area other than at the hunting site to which he is assigned.
(b) No person shall hunt migratory waterfowl in the area unless he possesses a permit to do so issued at the refuge office.
(c) No person shall hunt migratory waterfowl in the area on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday, except during the youth waterfowl hunt. All waterfowl hunters must have successfully completed the New York State Waterfowl hunter training program.
(d) Prior registration will be required for the opening day and the first three Saturdays of the migratory waterfowl hunting season. On other days hunting sites will be assigned on the basis of a daily drawing held prior to the hunt. On all other hunting days, permits will be issued on the basis of a daily drawing held prior to the hunt. Hunters shall have a choice of available sites as their name is drawn.
(e) No person shall hunt migratory waterfowl in the area after noon on any day.
(f) No person hunting migratory waterfowl in the area shall fail to check out at the permit station on Lewiston Road by 1 p.m. and submit for inspection any waterfowl taken.
(g) No person hunting migratory waterfowl in the area shall have a loaded gun unless he is actually hunting at his designated hunting site.
(h) No person shall hunt migratory waterfowl in the area more than 50 feet from his designated hunting site unless actively pursuing crippled birds. Not more than three hunters will be assigned to the same site.
(i) No person shall hunt migratory waterfowl in the area other than with a shotgun using steel shot.
(j) No person shall use or possess more than 15 shells per day when hunting migratory waterfowl in the area.
(k) No person in the area shall:
(1) consistently shoot high;
(2) engage in disorderly conduct;
(3) be intoxicated; or
(4) otherwise engage in unsportsmanlike conduct.
A permittee may be ejected from the area for failure to comply with the regulations contained in this subdivision.
(l) No permittee who leaves his designated hunting site shall return to that site unless he obtains permission from official personnel.
(m) Waterfowl hunting in the area shall terminate when the duck hunting season closes or upon the opening of the shotgun deer season, whichever occurs first.
(n) Waterfowl hunters must provide and use a minimum of six decoys per hunter.
