Dear Mr. Cupit:
*1 Attorney General Edwin Lloyd Pittman has received your opinion request and has assigned it to me for research and reply, your letter of request stating:
*1 “Although I am cognizant of the contents of Sections 97-37-1 et seq. Miss. Code Ann. (1972), I have been asked whether a retired National Guard officer - or any retired military personnel whatsoever - may carry a concealed weapon legally in Mississippi. Perhaps there is a federal statute of which I am unaware. Please advise.”
*1 This office is unaware of any authority for retired service personnel to be exempt from the State concealed weapon statutes.
