RULE 11-211. EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT
(a) Court Order.
(1) Generally. The court may order emergency medical, dental, surgical, or psychiatric treatment of a child who is the subject of a petition under this Chapter and who is alleged to be suffering from a condition or illness which, in the opinion of a licensed physician or dentist, requires immediate treatment if the child's parent, guardian, or custodian is not available or, without good cause, refuses to consent to the treatment.
(2) Placement in Emergency Facility. A child may be placed in an emergency facility on an emergency basis in accordance with Code, Health--General Article, Title 10, Subtitle 6, Part IV.

(b) Expedited Hearing. The court shall hear and rule on a petition seeking an order for emergency medical, dental, surgical, or psychiatric treatment on an expedited basis.
(c) Life-Sustaining Procedures. The court shall apply the factors set forth in Code, Estates and Trusts Article, § 13-711 (b), to the extent relevant, when deciding whether to withhold or withdraw a life-sustaining procedure as defined in Code, Estates and Trusts Article, § 13-711 (c).
