RULE 19-103. CHARACTER COMMITTEES
The Court shall appoint a Character Committee for each of the seven Appellate Judicial Circuits of the State. Each Character Committee shall consist of not less than five members whose terms shall be five years each. The terms shall be staggered. Each Character Committee member shall be an attorney admitted and in good standing to practice law in Maryland. The Court shall designate the chair of each Committee and vice chair, if any. For each character questionnaire referred to a Character Committee, the Board shall reimburse the actual expenses incurred by the Character Committee in conducting the investigation and shall remit a reasonable sum for administrative support to the extent a Character Committee chooses to obtain such administrative support. The Board shall adopt by Board Rule policies and procedures pertaining to the authorization of payments under this Rule.
