RULE 15-402. DEFINITIONS
In these Rules the following definitions apply except as expressly otherwise provided or as necessary implication requires:
(a) Arbitration Panel. “Arbitration panel” means the arbitrators selected to determine a health care malpractice claim in accordance with Code, Courts Article, Title 3, Subtitle 2A.
(b) Award. “Award” means a final determination of a health care malpractice claim by an arbitration panel or by the panel chair.
Cross reference: For the authority of the panel chair to rule on issues of law, see Code, Courts Article, § 3-2A-05 (a).
(c) Defendant. “Defendant” means the health care provider.
(d) Director. “Director” means the Director of the Health Care Alternative Dispute Resolution Office.
(e) Plaintiff. “Plaintiff” means the party making a claim against a health care provider.
