§ 11-302. Exemptions
This subtitle does not apply to reductions in operations if the reduction:
(1) results solely from labor disputes;
(2) occurs in a commercial, industrial, or agricultural enterprise operated by this State or its political subdivisions;
(3) occurs at construction sites or other temporary workplaces;
(4) results from seasonal factors that are determined by the Department to be customary in the industry; or
(5) results when an employer files for bankruptcy under federal bankruptcy laws.

1995 Legislation
Acts 1995, c. 120, § 18, provides:
“SECTION 18. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That if any provision of this Act or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid for any reason in a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or any other application of this Act which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or application, and for this purpose the provisions of this Act are declared severable.”
