GENERALLY:
These Local Rules incorporate herein by reference any Supreme Court Orders which control post COVID-19 Emergency operations. See: COVID-19 and the Kentucky Courts--Kentucky Court of Justice for all applicable Orders in effect. Any specific case type referenced herein which is addressed by any Supreme Court Order will proceed insomuch as Supreme Court Orders permit.
Jury Trials have resumed effective May 18, 2021 and are scheduled at the discretion of the Court.
Social Distancing and masking is at the discretion of the court as local conditions require. At court appearances, the Court will assign a time for the parties to reappear to help stagger the dockets to maximize efficiency and social distancing while minimizing both In Person & Zoom wait times.
CONTINUED USE OF ZOOM REMOTE TECHNOLOGY: The 11th Judicial District understands that remote courts provide opportunities for efficiency for both the Courts and those that appear before the Court Therefore, Remote Courts availability will continue as we move into 2023. The following guidelines are to assist parties and attorneys who wish to appear remotely.
All defendants in misdemeanor, felony, and DUI cases must appear in person unless otherwise instructed by the Judge. If you are an out-of-town Defendant or Attorney, you can contact the Judge's office for permission to appear remotely.
Defendants appearing for traffic cases, other than for a DUI case, may appear either in person or via Zoom using the login information below.
For Eviction Court, all parties must attend in person. One exception: A party being evicted who wants to admit their breach or non-payment & be evicted may appear remotely via Zoom. However, anyone else must be in person.
For Civil Motion Hour, all parties may appear either in person or remotely via Zoom. For Small Claims, all parties must attend in person unless permission received from the Judge to appear remotely.
For Probate Court, all parties may appear either in person or remotely via Zoom. For Guardianship Court, all parties may appear either in person or remotely via Zoom.
For Domestic Violence Court, parties must attend in person unless permission received from the Judge to appear remotely.
For Child Support Court, parties who are compliant with payments may attend remotely via Zoom. Parties who are not compliant, must attend in person. However, parties who reside out of county or are employed with wage withholding in place, may contact the Child Support Office or Judge's office for permission to appear remotely.
For Juvenile Court and Dependency, Neglect & Abuse cases, parties must attend in person unless permission received to appear remotely. Family members, foster parents and others who are providing care to removed children may attend court remotely. Also, parties who are in treatment or placements may attend court remotely.

If a party is unable to attend in person for a legitimate reason, remote appearances are allowed at the discretion of the Court and should be confirmed with the Judge's secretary. Parties with active warrants are not allowed to attend via remote technology.
Law Enforcement Agencies of the 11th Judicial District will be required to provide a Court information sheet to parties with their Citation which provides information on how to appear in court via electronic means or how to resolve their case without a Court appearance. Information sheets will be prepared by the Chief District Judge's office and will be made available to Law Enforcement, the County Jail and to the Circuit Clerk.

JURY/BENCH TRIALS--one per month per division, scheduled at discretion of court
Nothing is to be set on Jury Trial dates except for Jury Trials. In the event a matter is inadvertently set for that day, the Clerk is to send a notice re-setting the case. Court will begin at 8:30 am on Jury Trial days. The County Attorney, Defense Counsel and Defendants are to be present at that time for entry of pleas. Trials will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Trials for Division I may be scheduled at the discretion of the Court to begin at 10:00 am in the event that the jury trial date coincides with Taylor or Marion County Drug Court sessions.
In the event that Pre-trials or Jury Trials fall on a holiday or on a date when no court is scheduled, then that Pre-trial date or Jury Trial date will be cancelled or re-scheduled at the Court's discretion.
Probate Matters
Videoconferencing of Estates is strongly encouraged with original wills being filed via direct clerk filing. Fiduciary Oaths may be tendered with paperwork. Probate Motions or Hearings are permitted on any court date when videoconferencing is not feasible or preferred.
All bonds and citations issued for Green County shall have the court dates set for Monday at 1:00 pm on the second Monday (excluding holidays) after the citation.
Jail arraignment and preliminary hearing dockets will remain on Zoom. Inmates will be brought for entry of plea and pretrial conferences upon request by their attorney.

However, any bonds and citations for Hispanic language defendants shall have a court date of Wednesday at 9:00 am two weeks out as above.
Jail arraignment and preliminary hearing dockets will remain on Zoom. Inmates will be brought for entry of plea and pretrial conferences upon request by their attorney.

202. Exceptions to regular court schedule. Whenever a State holiday falls on a Monday, the Court may schedule a jail arraignment docket at the discretion of the Judge on the following Tuesday. If the Court is closed for any other unforeseen reason, i.e. inclement weather or unexpected illness, the Court's docket will be rescheduled with notice being sent to the parties.
