Rule 2.7. Appearance and Entry of Plea
A. The defendant or his attorney may admit the allegations of the citation or complaint by appearing in person.
B. The defendant or his attorney may deny the allegations of the citation or complaint by appearing in person. The defendant may also deny the allegations of the citation or complaint through his attorney by delivering to the court and the state a written denial signed by the defendant or his attorney. Upon denial, the court shall set the matter for hearing and notify the defendant and the state of the date, time, and place for the hearing, in writing. The defendant's notice shall be sent to the address set forth on the citation or complaint unless a different address is provided to the court in writing by the defendant or his attorney.
