A. Vehicles in which ice is transported or delivered shall be of easy to clean construction and shall be kept clean and in good repair. All vehicles hauling block ice shall be washed thoroughly immediately prior to loading with ice.

B. Ice being transported by any vehicle shall be protected from contamination. The vehicle shall have tight floors and sides. The load of ice shall be covered entirely with a clean tarpaulin. The tarpaulin shall reach to the floor at the back of the vehicle. Each tarpaulin shall be cleaned thoroughly after each use. Closed vehicles with tight fitted covered bodies may be used. The ice may be packaged in closed single service containers or other approved closed containers.
