007.10.21-III. WATER SUPPLY AND TREATMENT
A. All water used in ice plants, including that used in preparing brine solutions, shall be of a safe, sanitary quality and from a public water supply. An existing ice plant which is utilizing its own well for making ice may continue to do so provided the well meets the requirements set forth under “Rules and Regulations Pertaining to Public Water Supplies.” Water used for cooling purposes may be supplied from a non-potable water supply under the strict provision that no physical connection may exist be-between the potable and the non-potable water supplies.
B. Only potable water shall be used in dipping wells, or sprays, for the removal of ice cakes from the ice cans or tanks.
C. All water filters, settling tanks and other treatment facilities shall be cleaned as often as necessary to keep them operational and in clean, sanitary condition. Adequate and suitable tests shall be made and records shall be maintained thereon when such facilities are used.
