A. Divisional program managers or designees send statistical data monthly from Department of Human Services (DHS) - operated public care facilities to Administrative Services (AS), Managerial Accounting Section, Reporting and Forecasting Unit. From this data, the Reporting and Forecasting Unit completes the Medicaid/Medicare Cost Report for Public Care Facilities.

B. Reporting and Forecasting Unit staff prepare federally and state mandated Medicaid cost reports within the specified time frames, on the required forms, in compliance with federal and state guidelines and regulations. Staff utilize information from the Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Accounting Depreciation Schedule, AS Office of Information Systems Statement of Operations Report and the Cost Allocation Report prepared by AS, Managerial Accounting Section, Cost Allocation Unit for DHS.

C. Submission of Cost Reports: Reporting and Forecasting Unit staff submit cost reports to the appropriate divisional managers or designees and public care facilities' staff within the specified time frames as required.
