Currentness
I. AUTHORITY. The Board of Correction and Community Punishment is vested with the authority to promulgate this Administration Regulation by Ark. Code Ann. ยงยง 12-27-105, 16-93-1203 and 16-93-1205.
II. APPLICABILITY. All offenders under the care and custody of the Arkansas Department of Correction and Department of Community Punishment (Departments).
III. POLICY. To provide for the health and hygiene of offenders confined or incarcerated in Department facilities, and to maintain a standard appearance throughout the period of incarceration or confinement, minimizing opportunities for disguise and for transport of contraband and weapons.
IV. GUIDELINES.
A. Offenders shall be provided necessary items and services to maintain personal hygiene and grooming.
B. Grooming regulations to maintain a standard appearance shall be stated in an Administrative Directive.
V. STANDARDS. American Correctional Association Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions, third edition, 3-4324 and Standards for Adult Community Residential Services, third edition, 3-ACRS-4D-10.
