016.06.6-100. DEFINITIONS
The following definitions are listed to establish understanding of terms as applied in the regulations.
101 ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE PROGRAM
Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) is a program which provides organized and continuing therapeutic, rehabilitative and supportive health and social services and activities to meet the needs of four or more functionally impaired adults for periods of less than twenty-four, but more than two hours per day in a place other than the adult's own home.
102 ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE PROVIDER
The person, corporation, partnership, association or organization legally responsible for the overall operation of the ADHC Program and licensed to operate by the Office of Long Term Care.
103 APPLICANT
The person, corporation, partnership, association or organization which has submitted an application to operate an ADHC but has not yet been approved and issued a license by the Office of Long Term Care.
104 DEPARTMENT
The Department of Human Services.
105 DIRECT CARE STAFF
Those staff (paid and volunteer) assigned to take care of the direct needs of participants.
106 DIVISION OF AGING AND ADULT SERVICES (DAAS)
The Division within the Department of Human Services that develops programs and services to improve the quality of care for older and at risk adults, in order to enable them to live independently with dignity in the least restrictive environment.
107 FUNCTIONALLY IMPAIRED ADULT
An individual, age eighteen (18) or older, who by reason of mental or physical disability, requires care and supervision.
108 HEALTH CARD
A certificate issued by the State Health Department that states the person named on the card has been tested for tuberculous.
109 INDIVIDUAL PLAN OF CARE
The Adult Day Health Care Provider's written description of the scope of services to be provided to each individual participant.
110 LICENSE
A time-limited non-transferable document issued for a maximum period of 12 months to an operator who complies with the Office of Long Term Care regulations.
111 OFFICE OF LONG TERM CARE (OLTC)
The survey and license agency of the Department of Human Services for Nursing Facilities, Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded, Residential Care Facilities, Adult Day Care Facilities and Adult Day Health Care Facilities. OLTC is also the Medicaid State Agency for Nursing Facilities and Intermediate Care Facilities services for the Mentally Retarded.
