Surface water supplies shall have continuous disinfection and filtration sufficient to remove giardia and crytosporidium organisms, or additional treatment as deemed appropriate by the Arkansas Department of Health. Springs must be properly protected from surface contamination with water-tight curbs and covers. The curbs shall extend at least one foot above the surrounding ground surface, and the cover shall be constructed to exclude any possibility of contamination.
